Serving Don Mills and the rest of North York

We are based at 20 O'Neill Rd, near Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East. The neighbourhoods below are where we work most; elsewhere in North York, ask.

Where we work

North York's housing was mostly built between the 1950s and the 1970s, which means a lot of it is at the age where original panels, outlets and fixtures are being replaced and rooms are being relit. That is the work we do, and it is why we stay close to home rather than driving across the city. Toronto Hydro is the utility for all of these neighbourhoods.

Below is what we tend to see in each area. It is general, not a diagnosis of your house; every house is its own case.

Living room with recessed lights in the ceiling, a sliding door to a fenced backyard, a sectional sofa and framed pictures on the wall
Recessed lights in a living room ceiling, spaced so the seating area and the door to the yard are both lit.
  • Don Mills

The planned neighbourhood from the 1950s, with its bungalows, split-levels and the low-rise apartment blocks around The Donway. Houses from that era often still have their original service and two-prong outlets, so panel consultations, outlet upgrades and GFCI protection are common requests, along with pot lights in basements that are being finished.

  • Flemingdon Park

Apartment towers, townhouse rows and co-ops from the 1960s. This is a good fit for property-manager work: unit repairs between tenants, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm replacement, fixture and fan replacement, and common-area lighting.

  • York Mills

Larger lots and older houses, many of them renovated or added to over the decades. Renovations are where panel capacity, lighting layouts and outlet counts get decided, and a consultation before the drywall goes up saves rework later.

  • Bayview Village

Post-war bungalows, many rebuilt or extended, and newer houses with heavier electrical loads. Pot lights, kitchen circuits, outdoor lighting and EV charger circuits are the usual requests here.

  • Parkwoods

Houses and townhomes from the 1960s and 1970s. Aluminum branch wiring turns up in some houses from the late 1960s and early 1970s; it is manageable, but outlets and switches on it need the right devices and connectors, and that is something to ask about before anyone replaces a device.

  • Elsewhere in North York

If you are in North York but not in one of the neighbourhoods above, ask. The answer is usually yes for anything within a reasonable drive of Don Mills and Lawrence.

Outdoor work too

Backyards, steps and driveways are part of the house. Pathway and patio lighting, outdoor outlets, garage circuits and EV charger runs to a driveway all follow the same approach: weatherproof parts, GFCI protection, and a written scope first.
